Creating & Editing Notes

New Note

Tap + New Note in the top bar, or tap New in the bottom bar.

Add a Title

Tap the Note title… field at the top and type your title. The title appears in the notes list.

Write Your Note

Tap the large editor area below the toolbar and start typing. All changes save automatically.

Pin a Note

Tap the 📌 pin icon in the note actions row to keep important notes at the top of the list.

Delete a Note

Tap the 🗑 trash icon to move to Trash, or tap Delete in the bottom bar. Recover from the Trash folder.

Tip: The date shown next to the note actions row is the last modified time. Toggle it on/off in Settings → Show date.

Folders & Organisation

Open the Sidebar

Tap the button on the left edge of the screen, or swipe right from the left edge.

Create a Folder

In the sidebar, tap the + button next to FOLDERS. Enter a name and pick a colour.

Move a Note to a Folder

Open a note, tap the 🏷 tag icon, then select the folder. A note can belong to one folder.

Filter by Folder

Tap a folder in the sidebar to show only notes in that folder. Tap All to go back.

Tip: Use the Pinned and Trash filters in the sidebar for quick access to pinned or deleted notes.

Formatting Toolbar

Show / Hide Toolbar

Tap HIDE TOOLBAR / SHOW TOOLBAR above the toolbar to toggle it.

Text Style

Use the Paragraph dropdown for Heading 1, 2, 3 or normal paragraph. Change size with the number dropdown.

Bold / Italic / Underline / Strikethrough

Select text first, then tap B, I, U, or S in the toolbar.

Text Colour & Highlight

Col: sets the text colour. Ev: sets the highlight (background) colour. Tap ✕ to clear.

Insert Photo

Tap + Foto to insert an image from your gallery or camera. Pinch to resize after inserting.

Font Family

Use the Font dropdown to change the typeface for selected text.

Export (PDF & Copy)

Open Export

Tap Export in the bottom bar while a note is open.

Copy All Text

Tap Copy All to copy the plain text of the note to clipboard — ready to paste anywhere.

Save as PDF

Tap PDF to open the PDF preview. Tap Save as PDF and choose a location to save.

Tip: The PDF preserves your text colours, headings, and the NoteStudio branding header. Great for sharing formatted notes.

Voice Input

Enable Microphone

In Settings, make sure Microphone is toggled ON. Grant microphone permission when prompted.

Dictate

Open a note, then press and hold the purple 🎤 button. Speak — text appears in real time. Release to stop.

Position the Button

In Settings → Microphone position, choose Up, Middle, or Down to move the button where it's comfortable.

Tip: Voice input uses your device language by default. Make sure NoteStudio language matches what you want to dictate in.

Settings

Open Settings

Tap the ⚙️ gear icon in the top right corner.

Language

Choose from English, Română, Polski, or Русский. The entire UI updates instantly.

Theme

Pick Dark, Light, or Sepia. The theme applies immediately.

Show Date

Toggle the modified date display on/off in the note editor header.

Microphone & Left Button Position

Use the Up / Middle / Down selector to position the floating mic button and the sidebar toggle.
